Countdown Day 4

Hi Everyone!  I just want to share with you all, how much I LOVE the next new and exciting release from Greatest View!  So much so, I decided to use a little bit of everything on my baby’s (he’s almost three!) birthday layout! LOL!!  Everything that is, except the gorgeous new moustache badges... but trust me when I say, I was willing to put them on my layout too!  I shall just have to keep them in reserve for my next project!

The birthday boy badges were ideal for highlighting the theme for my youngest son’s 2nd birthday. However, I wanted to focus on the journaling for this layout, which is more about where we were when he turned two, than the fact that he actually had a birthday. These badges just reinforced the message that it was still a special day.

I also love the new countdown badges!  But instead of using them as Gail did on her layout, I used the number “2” for obvious reasons.

As a little side adventure, I also layered the badges on top of some punched scraps of co-ordinating paper. I used foam tape to add some depth and to make the badges a feature.  The lime green chevron ribbon has been folded over, stapled together and tucked beneath the badge.

Countdown Day 3

I enjoy baking and most years for the kids birthdays they will put in their cake request and I do my best to accomodate them.  When my son turned five he was obsessed with all things Ben 10 so when I suggested an Omnitrix birthday cake he was one very happy boy.

You can imagine my delight when I saw the new birthday themed badges that have been created for the June release.  I particularly loved the Birthday Boy badge with it’s bright colours and it set the tone for the colour palette used on my page.

I have to admit to letting out a little squeal when I saw the chevron ribbon.  Although I do have a funny story to tell about when I actually used it for the first time.  I could have sworn that the ribbon was wider at one end than the other.  I even went so far as to measure it just to make sure LOL.  I realised in the end of course that it was just an optical illusion!!

Countdown Day 2

I'm a little late with Day 2 of the countdown . . . if anyone works out how to add extra time to the day please let me know! 

I'm sharing a layout today that was actually inspired by one of the new badge sets. I've had the idea in my head for old fashioned movie countdown badges for a long time and they're finally ready!

I'm discovering the difference between boy and girl toddlers and Noah has been quite cheeky lately, climing and exploring. The countdown badges were perfect for listing four places I've found him getting up to mischief lately.

I've also used some of the new gorgeous chevron ribbon - I can't wait to share all the colours it comes in on Friday!

Countdown Day 1

With the next NEW product release only a few days away, it's definitely time to share what we've been working on behind the scenes! I've got new flair badge sets, more cute packaging and more  . . .

Over the last few months I have been doing an online course with Heidi Swapp, a lot of the projects involve creating pockets and envelopes for lots of hidden journalling. The different range of bitty bags from GV have been perfect for my projects.

This one I created  this week, It's a layout that opens up to a second page. You will note the front page has a new sunburst badge from a new colour mix set with blues and greens, as well as a large glassine bag that I have trimmed and punched a circle to hold a CD. It is tied together with some delicious yellow chevron ribbon, also coming in the new release.

When the layout is open you will see that fun bitty kraft bag with stripes, perfect for holding hidden journalling as well my favourite yellow chevron bag.

I hope you are excited to see some more delicious previews before the full release on Friday!

Don't you just love those little chevron baggies from GV?

This time I decided to do something a bit different and instead of having something inside the bag I sewed a little vellum pocket directly onto the front and added some punched circles and a die cut car!  Easy peasy and a whole different look for your bag.

I also decided to add a starburst button in a co ordinating lime green for a bit of fun as well.
