The Story | I love to give handmade cards. The level of appreciation varies (LOL) but I love that I can create a truly unique card, quite often tailor made for the specific occasion. The handwritten sentiments my children add are the icing on the cake! My son in particular has written some absolute corkers! With this card it was more a case of experimenting with technique rather than having a particular recipient in mind.
Techniques or tips to share | I love and appreciate mixed media artists and their art but whenever I try my hand at it I end up with a mess in the bin. The trick, for me anyway, is to stay within my style while still enjoying the opportunity to get messy.
The card base was created by applying texture paste to my cardstock with a mask. After it was dry I sprayed the cardstock with mist and used paper towel to absorb the excess. Nice and simple but super effective!
