Introducing Chantalle McDaniel

Today I am thrilled to introduce you to our newest design team member Chantalle McDaniel! I just love Chantalle's scrapbooking style and the amazing interactive elements that she includes. You can see more of her work on her blog here. Be sure to pop by to say hello!

Here's a bit more about Chantalle:

1. When and where do you mostly scrapbook?

I have a tiny corner in my house, dedicated to my craft obsessions. It's rapidly expanding though - high time I get an office… I may have to speak to Management!

 

2. List 3 of your go-to products or techniques when scrapbooking

My pics are nearly always off my iPhone. I love my phone - I joke about it being my third child! I hate my handwriting, so I always hide my journaling! I love the finishing touch that a few mist droplets bring and I have a small obsession with wood veneer and flairs!!

3. What do you love most about scrapbooking?

I'm hopeless when it comes to filing and sorting. I don't even have my wedding photos in an album,  nine years down the track! But with scrapping, I can document our lives in a way that satisfies my creative nature. I also really love the fact that products are constantly changing and evolving - nothing like something 'new' to get my juices flowing!

4. Lastly, what is your favourite Greatest View product?

It's all pretty awesome, but I do love the flair! I have a big bowl of 'my pretties'… lol!

Welcome to the team!

Melinda Spinks - Who Stole Ducky?

Have you ever been working on a layout and couldn't find the perfect embellishment to match the colour scheme of your papers and photos? Sometimes you have every other shade than the one you are after and it can get quite frustrating because you know what you want but just don't have it! That's why Gail works incredibly hard to be on top of the latest colour trends making sure that she has everything covered!

I took this series of photos last week when my little man was ravaging his big brother's ducky and when I printed them out I realised that they'd be a great match to a new Teresa Collins collection I'd bought. So when it came time to embellish I was not surprised to find that Gail's badges and chevron ribbon/bags tied in beautifully!

 

 

I gave one of the petite paper doilies a little make-over, not because the white didn't suit but because I was busting to try some new pastels I'd bought. The doily became my test subject and it worked out beautifully... I was quite excited with the new grey look! So don't be afraid to mix things up a little bit and add your own personal touch to the doilies by using either pastels, paint or sprays.

Kim Jeffress: 36 Years Apart

Don't you just love those little chevron baggies from GV?

This time I decided to do something a bit different and instead of having something inside the bag I sewed a little vellum pocket directly onto the front and added some punched circles and a die cut car!  Easy peasy and a whole different look for your bag.

I also decided to add a starburst button in a co ordinating lime green for a bit of fun as well.

Organising Greatest View Badges

I'm in a bit of an organising frenzy at the moment. My supplies have changed. My demands have changed. And you can probably guess that I have quite the stash of flair badges! Here's how I keep them accessible and in view:

I've used a vintage muffin tin and sorted them by colour and theme. Don't they just look like lollies? 

Recently I posed the question to the design team: how do you store your Greatest View badges? I thought you guys out there reading this might be interested!

"I use a combination vintage teacups and glasses. I have sorted each category into the different vessels."

"I love using this vintage saucer for the badges.  It is just the right depth to hold them yet still allows me to search through them without them spilling all over the place!"

"I need to keep my favourite things visible.  If I bury them in a cupboard they get forgotten unfortunately.  The only problem is having the right type of storage for keeping them visible without being messy.

 

I made a cupcake stand for a design team position a couple of years ago and it was sitting empty on top of my cupboard for so long that I decided it was better to make use of it than have it collecting dust.  On the bottom shelf I keep my badges in a glass jar (nice and visible) with some of my other Greatest View goodies in a tub next to it.

 

As well as being functional it provides a nice focal point in my scrap space."

Introducing: Melinda Spinks

Today I'm honoured to introduce you to the fourth member of the Greatest View design team! I'm a huge fan of Melinda's beautiful, detailed work!

At night when everyone else is in bed, it's the only time I have so I try to make the most of it.
- Punches

- Rub ons

- Embroidery thread

Although this changes on a daily basis, I enjoy playing with all different techniques.
The friends I've made through this craft! I definitely put that before anything else.

 


Really hard to choose as I don't really have favourites, however I do enjoy making the masquerade masks for my daughter's bedroom as they are something a little different and really fun to make.
That's like asking which is the nicest Tim Tam in a packet... Sorry, can't choose because it is all gorgeous!
